Hotel Accountant

My client is a highly regarded high end hotel based in Lincoln. Part of an independent group across the UK, the group ethos is on individuality and autonomy, providing a top class customer experience.

Following the present incumbent’s decision to retire the need has arisen to recruit an experienced Accountant to join the established and predominantly long serving team.

The successful applicant will ideally have experience within the hotel trade but consideration will be given to candidates coming from strong service/leisure based environments. You will have recent proven accounts experience gained in an office environment and be used to reporting to senior management, working on your own initiative and liaising with finance and non finance personnel.

Duties will include all aspects of profit loss accounts (including nominal ledger and trial balance), payroll for 75 weekly and monthly paid using Sage Payroll/Sage Line 50/Excel, credit control, preparing the monthly accounts for the Group Accountant and providing relevant and useful management information to continue with the successful growth and development of the hotel.

You will be a part or fully qualified AAT or have significant practical equivalent experience including the ability to run a full payroll. Experience of Sage would be highly beneficial and you will need to be competent with Excel.

There will be an opportunity to add value to the role be making any recommendations for ways of improving the way the accounts are produced and improving the quality of management information available.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded organisation, to work as part of an established and motivated workforce. The company are looking for long term career stability from someone who is keen to commit.
