Household Claims Specialist
Full Job Description
Based from home, you will manage your own time and diary. However, you`ll spend a significant part of your day visiting our household policyholders. Here, you`ll be assessing the nature and extent of loss and damage to the property and agreeing suitable ways forward with the policyholder to settle the claim. Confident with office technology, you`ll be working remotely with a laptop receiving claims electronically, which you will then own from start to final settlement.
Dealing with variety of losses including complex building issues from cradle to grave for all perils. It is likely that the claim value will be between £10,000 - £100,000. You will need to be confident in dealing with often traumatic situations for our customers. Providing clear project management and able to identify key milestones to be able to communicate with the customer throughout the life of the claim. Getting it right first time every time so that every customer tells a positive story.
You`ll also be responsible for agreeing the most appropriate solution to the claim with the customer and negotiate with suppliers, contractors and other third parties to replace goods or initiate repairs.
You will be working to tight deadlines as naturally there will be demanding service standards to achieve.
- Solid understanding of building and construction practices
- Ability to prepare a scope of works for building claims up to £100k
- Strong project management skills
- Awareness of current market building rates and rebuilding costs for reinstatement
- Confidence to negotiate with customers and intermediaries
- Qualifications in any of the following CII, ACII, CILA, BDMA, Cert CILA or recent progression towards
- Self motivated with the ability to work remotely with minimum referral
- Proven research, investigation and analytical skills
- Solid IT, numeracy, oral and written communications
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment

Excellent package, paying up to £37,000
