Gleeds is a multi-disciplinary consultancy specialising in the Property and Construction industries.

Gleeds Facilities Management is seeking to recruit an experienced Household Manager. This role will be site based, working closely with a high net worth client and family, within a private household.

Day to day duties include:

• To recruit, motivate and manage a multi-national household staff (permanent and temporary) including cooks, cleaners, gardeners, security, maintenance etc within conditions, and constraints laid down by the client.

• To keep proper records for employment of all staff, health and safety, budgetary and other purposes.

• To obtain quotations for suppliers, contractors and services, negotiate contracts, manage and supervise
implementation within authorised limits.

• To prepare annual budgets for running the household, set up supplier contracts, instruct and manage suppliers and authorise payments within agreed budgets.

• To prepare and present monthly reports and accounts.

Responsibilities for this will be far ranging and involve both the physical upkeep and maintenance of the home, as well as organising events and special activities.

The role calls for an organised and highly detail-focused individual with a proven record of managing a team. Having strong communication and administrative skills, you will certainly know how to take control of a household budget and see projects through from brief to completion, liaising with Gleeds and the client at all times.

Skills required:

Degree level education in Business, Economics, Finance or Management.

Management experience - ideally a minimum of 10 years.

Confident, proactive and assertive individual.

Excellent communication skills.

Diplomatic skills and good negotiator.

Due to this being a multi-national household, this role requires spoken and written fluency in English and Tamil languages, plus an understanding and appreciation of the Hindu faith and culture.

A degree of flexibility in working hours will also be required in order to meet the needs of our client – this may include evenings and weekends.
