Household Underwriter

The main duties of this role are:
- Day to day support to the operational and claims staff across the sites with referral to the senior household underwriter where required and carry out referral overrides where necessary.
- Assist in maintaining the underwriting guide including providing information on the most common telephone referrals.
- Assist with the home pre renewal reviews to ensure the correct premium is being collected for the risk and that appropriate terms are applied.
- Process ad-hoc CUE enquiries and complete investigations into claims history by liaising with previous insurers.
- When necessary investigate competitor activity including cover and pricing.
- Where necessary produce training bulletins to communicate underwriting changes to operational areas.
- Assist in the investigation of underwriting complaints.
- Assist in the preparation of technical training material and assist in the training delivery.
- Assist with the changes and revisions to the Home Policy Booklet.

Our client is looking for a candidate with the following experience:
- Experience of working intechnical household underwriting experience in a Head Office, or broker environment

- Studying towards your Certificate of Insurance Practice (CIP)

- Working knowledge of policy terms and conditions and home technical aspects and insurance processing systems

- Knowledge of Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) and impact on wordings

- Knowledge of assessing flood and other risk areas

- PC literate: word, excel

- Good interpersonal skills
