Housing Specialist

 

Description:

 

Supports the BOS-1 by auditing billeting services at Camp Leatherneck, in accordance with Camp Leatherneck regulations, Camp policies and procedures and by working with other Camp personnel and LOGCAP to monitor billeting support of the military tenants. Act as Contracting Officer's Technical Representative to the BOS-1 on all issues related to how housing is maintained and administered aboard Camp Leatherneck.  Maintain required reports and statistics; prepare reports on a monthly and annual basis as required.  Facilitate and mediate communication with tenants as needed.  Respond to inquiries, phone calls, correspondence, and e-mail in a timely and responsive manner Properly maintain client files and computer records to insure accuracy according to Billeting regulations, policies and procedures. Performs other related work as required.

 

Responsibilities:

 

·       Assesses the provision of billeting by LOGCAP IV.  Act as Contracting Officer's

·       Technical Representative to the Contracting Officer's Representative.

·       Prepare required reports and statistics on an as-needed basis.

·       Facilitate communication with civilian and military tenants.

·       Respond to inquiries, phone calls, correspondence, and e-mail in a timely manner.

·       Educate and inform new residents of their responsibilities.

·       Maintain tenant files and computer records to insure accuracy according to

·       Billeting policies and procedures.

·       Respond in a timely manner to all inquiries and information received regarding billeting and quality of life associated with billeting.

·       Attend meetings as required.

·       Collaborate with LOGCAP in the performance of their duty as the billeting provider.

·       Perform other related duties as required.

 

Skills:

 

·       Proper customer contact and telephone etiquette.

·       Basic mathematical principles.

·       Operate a variety of office equipment including typewriters, calculators, computers, facsimile machines and photocopiers.

·       Comprehend and explain housing rules and regulations.

·       Prepare clear and concise reports.

·       Flexibly adapt to a variety of work situations and interruptions.

·       Listen carefully and communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

·       Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work

 

Qualifications:

 

·       High School Diploma or GED

·       Minimum five years of experience in the multi-family housing industry with appropriate professional certification.

·       Valid driver's license. and cooperative to job demands and needs.

·       Strong spoken and written English communication skills.

·       Minimum typing speed of 40 wpm and  able to utilize Microsoft Office Suite.

·       Prioritize and manage a wide variety of tasks simultaneously.

·       Work well under stressful conditions.

·       Work and communicate well with individuals.

·       Communicate with and solve billeting problems related to tenants and military commands.

·       Work with minimum day-to-day supervision

·       General office and clerical skills required

 

 

Assistant Housing Specialist

 

Description:

 

With limited supervision of the Contractor Housing Specialist, plans, directs, and coordinates activities of the Billeting operations for the BOS-1 office at Camp Leatherneck.  Monitors LOGCAP billeting activities and recommends improvements to customer service and procedures to the BOS-1.Act as a Contracting Officer's Technical Representative to the Contracting Officer's Representative on LOGCAP IV activities related to billeting and Morale, Welfare and Recreation activities aboard Camp Leatherneck.  Performs other related tasks as required.

 

Responsibilities:

 

·       On behalf of the BOS-1 monitors provision of temporary and permanent living quarters for military and civilian tenants

·       Communicates deficiencies to ensure proper maintenance, safety and cleanliness standards are adhered.

·       Responsible for monitoring vacancy/occupancy rates and forecasting future billeting requirements

·       Works with BOS-1 operations to audit and ensure LOGCAP service orders for living quarters are completed according to the LOGCAP Performance Work Statement.

·       Be present at the BOS-1/Camp Commandant's service desk providing friendly, professional service to tenants and customers.

·       Operates with the Housing Specialist to coordinate review LOGCAP support

 

 

Skills:

 

·       Knowledge of multi-family housing operations.

·       Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.

·       Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective billeting support for the customer.

·       Proficient utilization of PC-based office software

·       Read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating  and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

·       Write routine reports and correspondence and peak effectively  before groups of customers  and contractor employees.

·       Solve practical problems using a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

·       Typically, three (3) to five (5) years experience in the multi-family housing industry. Military experience preferred.

·       High School Diploma or GED
