Description The EIS/SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) Program is seeking an exceptional SOA Technical Consultant to lead and oversee number of Enterprise SOA Program tracks. The current initiatives/tracks include security, governance, standards, and infrastructure enhancements. The person will need to decipher and collect requirements, understand proposed solutions/options, gather consensus from various stakeholders, be a leader for the effort, and also be able to produce required documentation/standards/policies/metrics. It is preferred but not required for a person to have experience with wide range of SOA tools and SOA processes. The most important factor is, for a person to understand and quickly grasp SOA technical and business concepts. The position is located in Pleasanton. Very occasional travel may be required. Essential Functions: Utilizes excellent organizational skills to assist the SOA Program in management of the numerous tracks and ensure the successful attainment of goals and completion of key Program projects. Develops and communicates very effectively through written reports, process documentation and materials which provide guidance/education to the enterprise on SOA standards and governance. Able to communicate well in meetings with multiple stakeholders from differing groups within the enterprise and when needed, conduct formal oral presentations. Excellent oral and written communication and documentation, collaboration and presentation skills. Collaborates with other key SOA stakeholders in the Enterprise to ensure integration and alignment Performs other duties and accepts responsibility as assigned Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or 4 years of equivalent work experience 10 years of progressive IT work experience, with demonstrated success in process and standards documentation, collaboratively working with stakeholders from multiple divisions within an enterprise and stewarding projects to completion on time and within budget. 3 years of experience with SOA/Enterprise Application Integration 2 years experience writing standards and end-user documentation in any IT area Well developed consulting, writing skills and oral communication skills Ability to work effectively under aggressive deadlines and in challenging settings Demonstrates a high level of judgment and risk taking to make appropriate decisions for diverse, sophisticated and undefined issues Experience working in large organizations with cross-departmental teams. Customer focused and results oriented - while maintaining a team focus approach. Excellent problem-solving, strategic and systems analysis and complex decision making skills.
