-- HR Assistant Job ID: 171568 Location: US-WA-Kennewick Posted Date: 3/20/2012 Company: AMZN.wacs, Inc Position Category: Human Resources Position Details Job Description Overview The HR Assistant performs a variety of HR duties under the general direction of the HR Manager, such as communicating, coordinating, and administering our HR process and policy. The HRA is expected to apply previous HR experience and judgment to operate independently and quickly learn to operate at full functionality in the position, while the HRA may not have as much experience, may require additional training, and may require more initial day-to-day direction. Primary responsibilities of the HRA include: Data Entry: Ensure data integrity in HRIS (PeopleSoft) systems. Daily maintenance of HRIS systems: entering new employees, issuing time cards, and updating employee information, Benefits Enrollments, etc. Attendance tracking: coordinate with managers to ensure employees are on the correct schedule pattern and crew sheets. Completing and distributing daily and weekly reports to CS managers and corporate office. Compiles all new-hire data and enters into PeopleSoft. Payroll: Ensure timely payroll reporting from CS to Amazon.comrsquo;s corporate payroll office. In addition, be able to troubleshoot reporting errors prior to transmission. Involves a great deal of follow up with associates, managers and Amazon.com payroll department. Payroll liaison between associates, Human Resources, managers, and Amazon.com payroll office. Coordinate with managers, using labor tracking tools, to ensure employees are on the correct schedule patterns. Completing and distributing reports as needed by CS managers and corporate offices. Answer frequent questions regarding payroll, benefits, scheduling, etc. Recruiting (as needed during Peak hiring) Assist with Q4 recruitment process. May assist with contacting and maintaining communication with exempt and non-exempt candidates. Arrange phone interviews and scheduling interviews for candidates. Prepare interview loop materials and folders. Schedule hiring meetings. Arranging travel for external exempt candidates. Performing the administrative tasks associated with hourly recruiting. Administrative: Assist with Benefits Orientations and Stock Rollouts. Assist with recruiting as necessary (new hire orientations, interview loops, and coordination) Conducts administration portion of new-hire orientation Liaisons with department managers and security for administration of badging process for building access and timekeeping. Calculates turnover metrics for salaried and hourly associates. Completes employment and payroll verifications. Organizes all HR department records and employment files and maintains operation of office equipment Maintain several HR spreadsheets related to workers compensation, LOA, stock, etc All other duties and responsibilities as needed Basic Qualifications HRA - Level 3 2 years administrative experience Beginner level experience with Excel, including charts, pivots, and filters Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Outlook Strong customer service and follow-up skills Preferred Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Business, HR, or a related field PHR Certification (for Senior HRA) Experience with HRIS systems, i.e. PeopleSoft, iCims, Taleo, MRT Prior experience supporting Benefits, Leave of Absence, Payroll, Staffing, or a related HR function Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll, benefits, and employee issues. Strong sense of integrity. Strong attention to detail -- accuracy is essential. Outstanding interpersonal skills: must display patience, humor and be focused on customer service and satisfaction. Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines. Great problem solving skills.
