HR Assistant/Bilingual Job in Houston 77002, Texas Us

We are looking for a dynamic Human Resources Assistant to assist in the many facets of the day to day human resources needs.  

 

We are a leading provider of affordable print advertising with over 40 years of stability and growth.  Our mission is to help businesses grow.  We hire employees in occupations as diverse as sales, printing, classified advertising, graphic art and accounting.  A close-knit team of three Human Resources professionals support approximately 300 employees at five separate locations in the State of Texas, mostly in Houston and Dallas.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

 

1.     Answers all routine HR-related inquiries in person and by e-mail.

2.     Processes new employee paperwork (I-9, W4, personal data form)

3.     Sets-up and maintains employee records in HRIS and timekeeping system, distributes benefit information, instructs on basic time reporting procedures.

4.     Process benefits enrollment forms internally and with benefits vendors.

5.     Prepares benefits bills for payment.

6.     Prepares letters, memoranda, forms and brochures as assigned.

7.     Processes verifications of employment.

 

Other duties and responsibilities:

1.     Assists with annual open enrollment process.

2.     Assist the corporate recruiter with job fairs as needed.

3.     Assists with payroll verification and processing as needed.

4.     Assist  Human Resources Manager and Director of  Human Resources with projects as assigned

5.     Assist with making new-employee folders and badges as needed.

Knowledge and skills required:

Knowledge of word-processing and spreadsheets.

Excellent organizational skills, and a customer-service attitude. 

Ability to deal with a variety of customers and situations with tact and diplomacy.

Ability to handle confidential information.

Bachelor Degree required.

Must be fluent in Spanish.

 

Working conditions:

Regular office hours.  Occasional travel to branch offices.  Bi-weekly late-hours at the printing facility.  Time-off must be scheduled around major payroll and human resources deadlines.
