Position Summary

The HR Business Partner supports and works closely with business leaders to ensure good HR policies and services to support and drive business objectives. In this role you will be a strategic business partner and work in all aspects of human resources management, build business partnerships, coach managers and support Dyno Nobel’s growth.

 

 Essential Functions

·         Act as an HR Generalist and display a broad range of knowledge in all aspects of human resources management;

·         Provide transactional and tactical HR support and guidance to client groups including employee and labour relations, staffing, training and development, coaching and counseling, performance management, disability management;

·         Provide developmental HR support through effective consultation and coaching;

·         Ensure that HR policies and procedures are appropriately implemented, interpreted and applied

·         Keep abreast of overall business and strategic objectives, both short and long term, and all stakeholder interests therein. Recommend HR solutions which will support the attainment of business objectives while fulfilling the needs of other stakeholders with particular focus on the employee experience;

·         Manage and implement effective recruitment practices and processes and work collaboratively and proactively with client groups on workforce analysis and planning ;

·         Create, coordinate and attend local job fairs/recruitment events;

·         Develop and leverage social media and other Web 2.0 tools into recruitment  process

·         Participate in the development of the New Employee on-boarding program in Canada;

·         Recommend new/revised approaches, policies and procedures for continuous improvement of HR functions. Support the effective delivery of new/revised policies and programs ;

·         Support corporate initiatives and projects as required. Act as a change agent;

·         Establish and maintain effective relationships with HR team members. Collaborate on key initiatives, projects, and partner with HR team to develop HR corporate programs or corporate roll-outs ;

 

Qualifications

·         7 - 8 years experience as HR professional

·         University degree in Human Resources or equivalent

·         Possesses or is working towards CHRP designation an asset

·         Understanding of labour relations processes, including the grievance process and collective bargaining ;

·         Strong knowledge of common law and relevant employment legislation

·         Organization skills, decision making skills, communication (oral/written) skills

·         Influencing/negotiation skills and conflict management skills ;

·         Ability to build strong relationships across all levels and be seen as credible business partner (business acumen) ;

·         Goal oriented and deadline driven ;

·         Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously ;

·         Ability to maintain information in confidence and exercise good judgment ;

·         Exceptional interpersonal skills and well developed self-awareness;

·         Some travel will be required.
