HR Generalist (1364)
Location: Canton, MS 39046

Description

  1. Responsible for carrying out general Human Resources functions in assigned sections of manufacturing.  Serve as the employee advocate in conflict or corrective action situations to ensure fair and consistent treatment.  Coordinate resolution and/or referral of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries, as well as investigation of employee complaints or issues initiated by management or employees.
  2. Ensure that HR policies, practices, and procedures are properly and consistently administered and lead to fair and consistent treatment of employees.  Assist in policy/procedure communication and related education activities to ensure HR policies, practices, and procedures are understood. 
  3. Responsible for managing and developing strategies for technician staffing utilization and workforce stability.  Serve as liaison for contingent staffing administration.
  4. Facilitate positive employee relations activities.  Assist with strategies and activities in support of maintaining a union-free environment, including monitoring labor activity.
  5.  Support administration of plant safety programs.
  6. Assist in administration of effective hourly compensation programs that support Company philosophy, profitability, and success. 
  7. Provide assistance and coordination in development and maintenance of specialized human resource information and measurement/reporting systems.  Perform specialized technical tasks, such as benchmark evaluation, technical research, labor trend analysis, and development of computerized reporting systems.  Prepare reports, graphs, charts, and statistical analyses, and participate in presenting reports and proposals to HR and Manufacturing management.
  8. Assist in employee services activities such as uniforms, safety shoes, and safety glasses, purchase discount programs, as well as Employee Apparel Purchase Program.
  9. Support employee involvement and recognition activities including Anniversary Dinners, All-Employee Events, Employee Advisory Committee, etc.
  10. Monitor internal communications programs including CCN, employee business education, and other employee communications tools with an emphasis on two-way, face-to-face communication with employees.
  11. Develop and/or conducts periodic training for hourly or supervisor personnel, including participating in needs assessment studies, revising of training programs, conducting post-promotion training, and delivering new hire orientations.
  12. Communicate with HR and Manufacturing management on current employee issues and environment to ensure stable employee relations, and a safe and secure work environment.

 

This work is performed in a general manufacturing and HQ office environment.

Intermediate to advanced experience (beyond basic data entry) working with computer applications such as Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint, and other presentation applications and/or software.

DDI Certification is strongly desired.
