As HR Officer you will support the HR Manager in the provision of all areas of human resource management and support the business to help create a high performance culture. Working within the fast paced direct-to-store business, you will be part of a small HR team, dedicated to delivering high service to the business.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, HR professional who is likely to have gained experience in an HR administration or HR officer role – you must demonstrate HR experience to be considered. This will be a busy, varied role in which you will gain exposure to all aspects of generalist HR activities. There will be a requirement for you to travel throughout the UK as necessary for the role, and we are seeking a team player who is committed and flexible. This role is a development role and there is good scope to grow with the business and sponsorship will be offered for professional CIPD qualifications.

Kerry Foods’ Swindon site is the home of Kerry’s convenience network, which operates 6 days a week to be the number 1 distributor of chilled foods across the UK. As well as the Direct to Store operation, the site also employs the Sales, Marketing and Central teams to support our convenience customers, with 596 employees in total. From here, goods can be sent out to our 26 regional Sales Offices that cover the whole country. Our distribution centres have the ability to turn orders around with total accuracy and efficiency. From there an impressive fleet of over 300 refrigerated vans deliver to customers wherever they may be.

 

Key Accountabilities

·         To support all employee relations matters particularly around disciplinary and grievance issues

·         Providing first line employee relations support with development into ensuring legal compliance and managed business risk through coaching and advising management on best practice

·         To support the long term sick process, in line with company policy, providing support to line managers and employees

·         Management of referrals to a 3rd party occupational health service, as appropriate

·         To manage all recruitment activity, particularly within the operational and sales areas of the business from vacancy to satisfactory placement

·         To provide business statistics on a monthly, quarterly and ad hoc basis based around labour turnover, absence, KPI’s etc

Previous Experience

·         Proven experience within a HR function is essential

·         Candidates will demonstrate excellent communication skills and a ‘can’ do attitude

·         Candidates will be strong team players with a flexible approach

·         Must be willing to travel as necessary for the role

·         Knowledge of employment law is essential

·         Strong IT skills essential, and SAP experience is essential

·         HR experience with an FMCG chilled food environment is desirable

·         Experience working within a multi-site business is desirable

·         Knowledge of lean techniques is desirable

 

Qualifications

·         Candidates are likely to be educated to degree level within a related discipline

·         Part CIPD qualified or studying towards CIPD is essential

·         Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK
