HR-Operational Risk Officer recruitment

The HR Operational Risk Officer leads a team of Operational Risk Managers in advising the HR Senior Leadership Team on ORM and building disciplined risk management practices. Responsibilities As this is a newly created role, the initial focus will be to: 1. Sustain continuous focus and buy-in from HR leadership amidst significant transformational change in HR and multiple competing high priority initiatives. 2. Develop and implement the ORM Framework in HR in accordance with AIG Corporate ORM requirements

* The current components of the AIG Corporate ORM Framework include the Risk and Control Self Assessment, Key Risk Indicators, and Risk Event Capture and Reporting process.

* A key challenge is to determine creative and practical approaches for developing and implementing these components and bridging the gap between the current state in HR and the AIG Corporate ORM criteria.

* The HR organization is in the early stages of risk maturity and needs significant training and guidance in building its risk literacy and changing behaviors to begin developing a risk management culture. Meanwhile, AIG Corporate ORM has set forth relatively complex criteria for the current ORM components. 3. Identify and monitor risk exposures and evaluate adequacy of risk mitigation efforts.

* A key component is understanding the Internal Audit Division's (IAD) evaluation of HR's control environment and developing a collaborative relationship with IAD as HR strengthens its control environment. * Other areas and issues would include SOX, Legal Compliance, transformation initiatives. 4. Create a new team of Operational Risk Managers. Additional responsibilities of this role would include: * In addition to the current Corporate ORM components, assess the environment and identify, develop, and implement additional foundational requirements to develop the HR risk culture.

* As a member of the AIG risk community, provide thought leadership and support AIG Corporate ORM in driving risk management initiatives across the enterprise. For example, participating in risk steering committees.

* Develop, maintain, and coordinate risk reporting and metrics to support HR Executive Leadership in managing HR risks.

* Provide risk expertise on HR initiatives and processes.

* Provide training and guidance to HR team on executing elements of the ORM framework.

* Elevate the risk knowledge of the HR team. Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you MUST be able to easily translate your technical expertise in Enterprise/Operational Risk Management (ERM/ORM) into meaningful and practical concepts and solutions for the HR community.

* 15+ years of relevant experience in a combination of enterprise/operational risk management (ORM/ERM) disciplines and internal auditing, preferably with focus on corporate functions (vs. trading operations). * Strong knowledge of the HR business and related risks.

* Experience developing strategy for and implementing a new risk management function.

* Demonstrated technical expertise in ORM/ERM components, including Risk and Control Self Assessments, Key Risk Indicators, Risk/Loss Event Reporting, Scenario Analysis.

* Experience creating new teams that are effective.

* Proven track record of driving change and developing practical solutions in ambiguous situations.

* Persuasive and confident communication style with executive levels.

* Skilled at gaining commitment from others amidst competing high priorities.

* Ability to navigate in a transformational environment with continual change.

* Ability to simplify and articulate risk concepts to others in a meaningful manner.

* Organizational savvy and professional maturity.
