Posted Position Title: HR Specialist Career Level: Entry-Level Function Human Resources Function Segment: Administration and Support Location: United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces: Kentucky City: Somerset Postal Code: 42501-2460 Relocation Assistance No Role Summary/Purpose: The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for managing the HR functions of a unionized manufacturing plant located in Somerset, KY. This role will drive HR initiatives and priorities and execute HR processes to ensure compliance with all policies. Essential Responsibilities *Provide leadership, coach and counsel, and support to management on all HR matters related to contractual issues and policies and procedures *Build positive union relations with the local union leaders and all hourly employees of the plant to develop credibility among the workforce *Promote a cooperative and collaborative work environment through positive climate setting strategies and practices *Lead annual succession planning and salary planning process *Help lead employee communication efforts and engagement activities *Oversee administrative duties including employee personnel record maintenance, job posting procedure and records, work force addition and reduction procedures, employee discipline administration, etc. *Support plant initiatives that include supervisory training, union relations training, employee recognition programs, HealthAhead, productivity/process improvement programs, Lean, etc. *Provide general guidance on all GE benefits including healthcare plans, pension, SSP Qualifications/Requirements: *Bachelors Degree from an accredited university or college *Minimum 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources or Union Relations Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
