HRIS Analyst/Consultant

Conducts technical studies and evaluations of business area requirements and recommends to client and other data processing management appropriate technological alternatives. Functions as a liaison between the systems consulting, IT and business areas. Essential Functions: - Participates in technical studies and evaluations of business requirements and technological alternatives. - Recommends appropriate systems solutions. - Provides direction and guidance to other programmers. Responsible for the evaluation and implementation of complex applications with complex subsystems which may affect the entire system or multiple systems applications. - Prepares communications, documentation and conducts classes on new system alternatives. - Consults and provides guidance to client and data processing personnel. Performs related duties as assigned or requested. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - Significant experience, typically four (4)or more years in systems and applications programming, and a working knowledge of available systems alternatives and technology, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. - Bachelor's degree or four (4) years of equivalent work experience in Computer Science or a related discipline. - Requires excellent analytical ability, consultative, and communication skills, strong judgment and the ability to work effectively with client, DP managers and staffs. - Must understand the systems development process and have a solid understanding of business processes. - Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment. Strongly Preferred Qualifications: - Significant experience with payroll, time and labor and HR systems. -Oracle/PeopleSoft Functional knowledge - An in-depth functional knowledge of Oracle/PeopleSoft HCM, CRM, ELM, and/or UPK Applications. Ability to setup and configure the system for the above application(s). Experience with PeopleSoft customizations based on user requirements. -Business knowledge - must have several years of experience and knowledge in the field/area of support such as: Payroll practices and regulations, Benefits processing and regulations, HR common practices, financial accounting knowledge, customer relationship management, learning management, professional recruitment, risk management, and/or training administration. -ProjectManagement - Knowledge of Project Methodology, Implementation Life Cycle, and Testing Life Cycle.
