The current operating model requires small teams of business facing IT experts to be located in each of the countries outside of the major hubs like London, Hong Kong, Paris and New York. Activities like development, testing and application management will largely be carried out in the lower cost locations around the globe.
Principle Accountabilities:
Reporting to the Head of Global Banking Markets IT in Singapore, you will be responsible for the following activities in support of the IT needs for HSBC Securities Services (HSS):
- Pro-actively manage operational risks through making recommendations to the relevant steering groups
- As a senior member of the local IT team, be the escalation point during critical incidents and drive the organization during problem management in Singapore
- Build up extremely good understanding of the local business flows, to be able to act as a IT business consultant
- Manage relationships with internal control functions such as Audit and Information Security Risk where required
Skills/Attributes:
- Post Graduate qualifications in Computer Science or related discipline, with 8 - 10 years of relevant experience
- ITIL certification and appreciation of the service management principles
- Experience as a business analyst and in project coordination, particularly with working across geographical locations
- Basic understanding of Information Technology governance in a global bank
- Good understanding of the Securities Services business, with expert level knowledge in at least one of the following areas: Custody Clearing, Fund Administration, Corporate Trust and Loan Agency, would be highly advantageous
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Good inter-personal and communication skills to be able to interface with multiple stakeholders
- Leadership ability and experience in managing indirect reports
