The Position:
CSIRO Health Safety and Environment (HSE) seeks to continuously improve the safety of the working environment to prevent injuries and illness, while caring for the natural and built environment. HSE is responsible for supporting the objectives of striving for Zero Harm in CSIRO.
An opportunity to join the HSE team as a HSE Advisor within the QLD/NT/Armidale region is now available!
Specifically you'll:
- Work effectively with all local stakeholders to achieve a consistent and quality delivery of HSE services;
- Be the first point of contact for site staff for operational HSE activity;
- Take responsibility for day-to-day coordination of HSE issues consistent with our enterprise approach;
- Work with HSE leaders to provide solutions to strategic issues relevant to local clients.
The role will be based primarily on a site in Armidale. However, the role can involve responsibilities covering all sites within the QLD/NT/Armidale region, requiring some travel.
The hours of this position are just over 18 per week. The specific days and hours worked will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
Location: Armidale, NSW
Salary: $55K - $82K pro-rata plus up to 15.4% superannuation
Tenure: Indefinite (part-time FTE 0.5)

To be successful in this position you will need:
- Demonstrated ability to provide HSE advice and deliver outcomes gained through relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated work experience;
- Demonstrated ability to develop trusted advisor and strong client relationships which foster networks to deliver HSE initiatives;
- Sound knowledge of Safety Management Systems and the correlation with legislation, Risk Management Plans and Safe Operating Procedures.
