HSE ASST - CUSTOMER COMPLIANCE SUPPOR

• Promotes a culture of continual improvement of work processes for reducing health, safety, and environmental risks to assure a workplace and project where No One Gets Hurt, Nothing Gets Harmed.
• Provides support to the HSE organization by working with external customers and customer representatives to ensure compliance with customer and internal HSE management system policies, procedures, operational controls, and work instructions. This will include working with third parties and third party software applications such as ISNetWorld, Pec/Premier, Browz, PICS Auditing, Veriforce, HACSC, etc.
• Supports the HSE organization by working with internal customers to ensure compliance with HSE management system policies, procedures, operational controls, and work instructions.
• Work involves considerable internal and external contacts, non-routine tasks, and access to confidential information. Judgment and initiative are frequently exercised in answering verbal and written communications and in interpreting departmental policies, rules and regulations. Work is performed under general rather than specific instruction
• Monitor compliance with company policies and procedures such as drug testing and provide feedback to internal customers at various levels as well as third party vendors.
• Compile and edit Best Practice Sharing information from each division's facilities and distribute globally.
• Monitor compliance with contractual, legal and regulatory requirements; conformance to HSE Management System requirements; and HSE performance results using both proactive (leading) and reactive (lagging) measures.
• Communicates verbally and in writing on non-routine matters which may involve interpretation of policies/procedures.
• Prepares presentations, publications, and reports, including research, writing, and editing.
• Participate in HSE workplace inspections, behavioral-based observations, and management system audits to assist line management in identifying nonconformities, defects and system deficiencies related to the HSE aspects of project/manufactured products and work activities.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree (preferred)

Qualification/Experience:
• 3-5 years experience in an office environment providing customer service or comparable position
• 1+ years experience in a Health and Safety role (preferred) preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of EPA, OSHA, DOT and local laws, regulations, codes, standards, and best industry practices for HSE preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills:
- Highly proficient in English
- Proficient in technical writing, presentations, and training.
- Proficient in computer software applications (e.g. MS Office).
• Strong leadership skills:
- Customer service and quality oriented.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, able to handle multiple project tasks and activities.
- Ability to interface at all levels and with all functions of a matrix organization.
- Ability to work with ethnically and culturally diverse teams across an international spectrum.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
