Sub Surface Tools is currently seeking a HSE Coordinator to join our team in Morgan City, LA.
The HSE Coordinator is responsible for supporting Health, Safety and Environmental programs and related training, monitoring regulatory compliance, and participating with or assisting technical professionals and HSE Managers in the development and implementation of HSE systems. The overall objective is to help create and sustain a safe and productive work culture. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a visible and uncompromised commitment to the protection of the environment as well as the productivity and safety of the company’s employees
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Working with the employees and management to improve the health of the HSE system
- Dealing with all matters relating to the implementation of HSE policies, procedures, training, and compliance
- Implementation and dissemination of the annual HSE plans and various training programs
- Incident reporting and investigation
- Root cause investigation skills
- Proper completion of incident report forms
- Perform thorough case management after an incident has occurred
- Ability to verbally communicate HSE concepts clearly and concisely to all levels of employees
- Ability to present HSE concepts clearly and concisely in written format
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with division standards, all levels of legislation and develop corrective actions as required
- Organize and conduct weekly safety meetings
- Advises and supports operations in terms of HSE initiatives and processes
- Conducts and schedules HSE training for employees
- Good working knowledge of pertinent regulations including: OSHA, EPA, DOT, NRC, LADEQ, TCEQ, USCG
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 1-2 years of HSE support experience is required
- Experience working in the oilfield services industry is highly preferred
- Experience supporting a construction or manufacturing operation where safety comes first is critical
- Ability to travel as needed, but not expected to exceed 20%
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Work, Excel, and Power Point
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with a wide range of situations and personalities
- Ability to work under pressure
- A team spirit and cooperative nature
- Self starter capable of working and prioritizing projects with little supervision
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
