Position Description:

The Human Resources and EHS Manager supports and coordinates all human resource, environmental, health, safety, benefits and training functions. The HR Manager will develop and facilitate the implementation of a strategic plan designed to move the manufacturing plant toward world-class stature in safety, health, environment, and also in quality and cost. This effort includes organizational assessment and diagnosis, development and training, employee involvement, team development, and group facilitation. Will coach managers and employees to achieve best communication practices and develop and fine tune interaction capability. Will manage salary spending and administration, and oversee benefits administration, communications, and provider relations.

• Regulatory Compliance (Environmental Manager)
? Monitor Air, Water and other Waste Emission Regulations
? Complete necessary forms/permits as required for total compliance
? Update and certify “SPCC” (Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures) Plan
? Lead all efforts to develop and execute plans that will allow plant to meet all requirements of ISO 14001
?Soft skills training
30% Human Resources Management:
Management and Support of Human Resources Staff
?Advisor and coach to management staff
?Manage recruitment/hiring activities
?Oversee salary administration
?Oversee benefits administration
?Budget development and management
?Oversee company and government reporting requirements
?Insure HRIS is maximized in plant
?Hourly policy development and interpretation

20% Safety/Accident Prevention Process Development and Management
?Oversee plant safety programs and compliance
?Develop and oversee safety training tracking and certification update processes
?Coordinate 20 step audits
?Safety committee leadership
?Identify and correct any safety hazards within the plant
?Assess and facilitate solutions to any ergonomic concerns

PROBLEM-SOLVING

Decisions may have a far-reaching financial and human impact. This position has a decision-making role in the design and implementation of a strategy that will move the organization toward world-class manufacturing. Decisions will impact productivity, quality, cost, EHS, and employee morale.

POLICY DEVELOPMENT: Significant involvement required to ensure development of policies and procedures that reflect the mission of the organization. Ensure policies support organizational beliefs and strategic plan.

KNOWLEDGE --
BA/BS in related field or equivalent work experience a MA preferred. 5-7 years experience in training in employee involvement, SPC, problem-solving, group processes, and team building. Preferred prior experience as an HR generalist in recruitment, salary planning, and benefits administration, etc. is preferred. In depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety programs.

TRAVEL: 10 percent
