The Position:
This position is responsible for developing and implementing HR plans that attract, develop and engage employees to ensure we achieve our business goals. He/she must be responsive and supportive of staff at all levels to help them be more productive and successful in their jobs. He/she must be a positive and solutions-oriented role model and advocate for the staff, as well as a positive representative of the company.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing HR support for the New York office of a large public relations agency
- Provide guidance to management on employee relations, performance management, staffing, internal transfers and visas, compensation, and employee development
- Work with the SVP, HR to implement talent management programs, including mentoring, on-boarding, succession planning, organizational reviews and rewards and recognition programs
- Provide coaching and counseling to employees in areas such as conflict resolution and career development
- Partner with recruiting team to identify the best talent for Ketchum
- Manage and mentor junior HR staff as they complete the day-to-day functioning of the HR department, including salary and new hire administration, reporting and tracking; drive continuous improvement as appropriate
- Work closely with all levels of employees to build relationships, provide HR support and drive the business strategy
- Connect and build relationships with other HR professionals across the agency network to ensure alignment and use of best practices
The Requirements:
- 4-6 years experience in employee relations
- Proven track record in successfully implementing HR programs
- Proven project management skills and project leadership capabilities
- Demonstrated strategic and creative thinking, with strong influencing, problem solving, mediation and decision making skills
- Ability to build relationships with all levels of employees
- Experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills
- Agency (Digital, PR, Advertising), billable environment or service industry experience a plus
- Bachelor's required, PHR certification a plus
