Alcoa is in search of a Human Resource Manager to work at the Alcoa Technical Center, located in Alcoa Center (New Kensington) PA, a suburb of Pittsburgh. The Alcoa Technical Center is Alcoa's largest research, development, and applied engineering laboratory. Alcoa Technical Center occupies a 127-acre campus with an additional 2,019 acres of rolling countryside. This facility is the world's largest light metals research and development center with a full range of lab capabilities, from bench-scale to full production-scale equipment. The facility has a diverse, multi-lingual workforce holding more than 100 doctorate and 200 master's Degrees The primary responsibility of this position is to partner the Alcoa Technical Center and Alcoa Business Units leadership teams to provide overall leadership to the HR function while ensuring critical project milestones and deliverables are achieved. Specifically, this role will be accountable for talent management (acquire, develop, retain), workforce planning, succession planning, organizational design and development, performance management, employee engagement and building a team with a high performance culture. This role will be key member of a specific project team reporting to the Human Resource Director Global Technology and working closely with all members to accomplish the short term and long term objectives of the project. The HR Manager will also have a functional reporting relationship to Global Primary Products (GPP) HR to help integrate the projects efforts into daily operations. Key Focus Areas: - In partnership with the Program Management Office (PMO), develop a comprehensive HR strategy and action plan in support of the project needs. - Lead the short term and long term staffing efforts - Develop workforce plans in support of the project plans and key dependencies - Partner to develop a strong performance based culture and high performing teams - Provide organizational design leadership for both the short term and long term needs of the project - Partner with Alcoa Technical Center (ATC) and Global Primary Product's (GPP) to develop workforce plans in support of project resources and project resource needs - Effectively coach, counsel and mentor the project team in support of their objectives and individual needs - Develop and execute plans to improve employee engagement and the work environment - Lead the annual standard work to include performance management, talent reviews, merit planning and the year end process. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resource, Technology or Business fielded plus a minimum of 10 years of work experience. 5+ years of HR experience
