About the Job
- Lead and direct plant HR activities to support the achievement of plant performance metrics in the areas of Safety, Cost, Quality, Schedule Adherence and Productivity.
- Ensure the execution of key plant HR initiatives and processes to drive continuous improvement in the areas of organization effectiveness, staffing, employee relations, performance management, training and development, benefits, employment practices and compliance.
- Engage in leading the division’s labor relations function representing the business in all grievances, communications, collective bargaining agreement interpretations and contract negotiations. The production group is represented by the UAW.
- Support organization change efforts and collaborate with plant leadership to ensure successful change management approaches through effective planning and analysis, communication of change initiatives, full and active leadership support and employee involvement.
- Provide counsel and coaching to all employees on a wide range of personnel matters
- Track and analyze plant HR metrics to determine root cause and develop and execute action plans to address problem areas
- Mentor and develop direct reports to ensure their on going development and functional excellence
Required Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 8 - 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience in a manufacturing organization. Expertise in core HR disciplinary functions is assumed. This position interacts with a variety of diverse individuals within the plant and in corporate HR groups, therefore the ability to communicate effectively and influence at all levels of the organization is critical.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced studies in Human Resources Management or Labor Relations
- PHR/SPHR certification
- Prior supervisory experience a plus
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies. Knowledge of Continuous Improvement activities
- Working knowledge of OSHA Regulations and reporting requirements
- TS 16949 and ISO 14001 systems knowledge
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft systems
