Human Resources Assistant Job in Carbondale 18407, Pennsylvania US
Hendrick Manufacturing Company, the country's largest privately held metal perforator, is looking for a Human Resources Assistant!
This position encompasses responsibility for providing administrative support to all Hendrick locations. To qualify as a Human Resources Assistant an individual must be able to perform all of the following:
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality with all job tasks entrusted to them.
- Process all new hire documentation and input information into HRMS.
- Conduct orientation for new hires.
- Input all employee benefit enrollment and/or change information on the respective provider website.
- Maintain and organize all personnel records and files.
- Actively participate on Safety Committee, and record meeting minutes.
- Prepare and process all worker's compensation claims and maintain related documents.
- Prepare and process all documents related to claims for unemployment benefits.
- Maintain and update data on the HRMS, including but not limited to employee information, pay information, benefit plan updates, etc.
- Prepare and produce reports as required from ABRA HRMS and/or TimeTrak.
- Assist in compilation and preparation of surveys and other projects.
- Assist in the planning of employee meetings and/or events including, but not limited to: Christmas Party, Summer Picnic, etc.
- Assist in ordering process for various items including, but not limited to: uniforms, safety supplies, etc.
- Assist in administration of 401(k) and profit sharing program.
- Provide Supervisors/Managers with monthly evaluations to ensure timely completion of evaluations.
- Perform all other duties and assignments as required including those when reassigned or transferred and regardless of whether duties are related to his/her normal duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma.
- It is a preferred that the ideal candidate have an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration and/or Human Resources or a related field.
Skills:
- Requires above average computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
- Requires excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Requires ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Requires capacity to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Requires good organizational skills.
Knowledge:
- Must possess the ability to create mail merge documents used in mass mailings, create original Excel spreadsheets, access databases, etc.
- Must be familiar with operation of SAGE Abra or a related HRIS/HRMS.
- Should be familiar with FMLA, COBRA, Workers Compensation, Unemployment benefits, etc.
- Working knowledge to maintain record keeping and report filing.
Experience:
- Minimum of two to five years experience in a human resource environment.
Supervision:
- Position requires individual to work with minimal supervision after initial training.
Physical Demands:
- Requires the ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Stooping, bending, stretching, walking as necessary.
- Requires high degree of attention to detail.
- Appropriate business attire

Work is performed in a well lighted, well ventilated clean manufacturing and office environment.
