Human Resources Business Partner – Investment Bank COO recruitment
This role sits within the Global IB CEO/COO/Ops Business Partner Team and supports the Investment Bank COO functions for the Americas, which includes Operations and Quants. The combined businesses comprise approximately 750 employees. For the right candidate and pending other organizational decisions, this position may cover other businesses, including CEO for the Americas and/or Latin America.
The role includes management responsibility for a small team of HR Managers in the region. The scope of team leadership responsibilities may also vary depending on the business coverage.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide HR advice and support to IB COO, Operations and Quants leaders in the Americas enabling the business to make better people decisions
- Develop strong working relationships with the senior leaders for each client group and their teams
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the business, including vision and strategy
- Guide and influence senior leaders around decision making to enhance organizational effectiveness, exercising judgment, balancing interests and inspiring confidence in critical people-related decisions and planning
- Ensure that robust succession planning is in place for the key positions in IB COO, Operations and Quants
- Build and leverage partnerships with experts in Reward, Recruiting, Learning and Talent Management and with Service Delivery in the Americas to deliver HR advice and services in line with the strategic HR priorities of those businesses
- Lead the delivery of core cycle for the client groups supported including performance management and measurement, compensation, promotions, talent identification and program nominations
- Manage, coach and develop the HR Manager direct reports to be a high-performing team
- Embrace the HR Transformation and Target Operating Model and ensure self and the team develop the skills and client service that are necessary for the future of HR
- Build working relationships across the global business partner team, and share and leverage best practices
Qualifications:
- 4-year Bachelor's degree or international equivalent
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in relevant HR roles
- Significant project and people management experience
- Proven track record of managing processes related to employee selection, development, retention, motivation and labor relations
- Solid understanding of financial services / investment banking
- Experience in OD initiatives and change management activities in a complex organization
- Experience in workforce planning (tools methodology) and talent assessment
- High degree of results-orientation and ability to execute and multitask
- Drive and initiative, keeping abreast of best-in-class HR techniques, proactively advocating innovations
- Strong analytical, consulting and influencing skills
- Excellent presentation skills
