The HR Business Partner assists management with day to day employee relations issues/solutions and ensures a strategic partnership with all departments.  The HR Business Partner helps managers comply with HR policies, coaches managers to engage and develop their employees, provide expert counsel and accurate and timely HR information to clients, employees and management.

  

·         Monitor organizational structure to help ensure appropriate people resources (proper staffing levels), job design and workflow effectiveness

 

·         Develop and implement managerial skill or development programs for organizational effectiveness

 

·         Assist with labor relations functions (i.e. contract negotiation/interpretation/grievances)

 

·         Identify, track and assist in providing career planning for high potential employees

 

·         Respond to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints.

 

·         Assist in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.

 

·         Responsible for ensuring managers are utilizing the tools provided by HR (i.e. Ceridian manager self-service); serve as back-up for data input and approval into the Ceridian HR/Payroll system as needed

 

·         Suggest and implement effective reward and recognition programs

 

·         Identify and implement ways to help managers create a culture of engagement

 

·         Assist in project design and implementation of key initiatives

 

·         Ensure complete understanding of policies and procedures; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures

 

·         Ensure all HR related activities are conducted in accordance with state and federal laws that are applicable

 

·         Identify and implement ideas and tools that support manager in managing employee performance

 

·         Provide coaching and guidance to managers to ensure performance management activities are completed properly and timely

 

·         Provide guidance and administration of the defined compensation strategy

 

 

·         Assist in the process of providing information and paperwork relating to unemployment claims to the unemployment claim administrator

 

·         Provide overall support to managers and employees on various HR functions.

 

·         Write, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools. Assist in development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs. Help maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.

 

·         Perform and participate in cross training activities, special projects and performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications Include:

 

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Human Resource Management or related field

·         Minimum 3-7  years of experience in human resources

·         Knowledge of federal and state labor laws and HR policies and practices

·         Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law.

·         Experience with Ceridian HRIS and Kronos time keeping strongly preferred

·         Ability to analyze various types of employee or department information

·         Strong problem-solving abilities

·         Strong organizational and time management skills required

·         Must be detail-oriented

·         Ability to prioritize and meet established deadlines

·         Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality

·         Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

·         Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills

·         Must be able to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds
