The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) position is located in Redwood City, CA, reporting to the Senior Director, Human Resources Business Partner, North America. This position provides functional expertise, leadership, support, and guidance to executive management to build people capability in support of business goals and objectives. This role will be responsible for ensuring close business partnerships with the functional managers and serves as a partner, change agent, HR expert and advisor to the functional leaders and HR leadership.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the business strategy by helping identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes
- Support leadership in forecasting and planning the talent pipeline requirements in line with the function/business strategy
- Provide clear leadership by demonstrating understanding of business trends and needs
- Drive the people processes (performance, development, and career) to ensure that employees' level of performance and capabilities meet current and future standards
- Maintain close contact with the HR team to work in synchronization with the other business units
- Review and benchmark the internal and external environment to improve the HR policies and initiatives to enhance overall business performance
- Identify and drive the communication and sharing of learning across functions to facilitate continuous improvement
- Partners closely with leaders and HR to ensure the building of a high performance culture, with an emphasis on:
- Integration of talent
- Disciplined performance management and feedback
- Proactively identifying employee and organizational needs and raising awareness
- Effective coordination of reorganizations, redesigns, acquisitions, etc.
- Engagement and retention of key talent
- Consult with business leaders to align talent related needs with the current and future needs of the organization; ensure consistency, continuity and successful delivery of tailored solutions to clients and to identify talent issues before they affect the business
- Serve as a strategic focal point for all human capital issues and work with leadership to develop and coach top talent, high performing and emerging leaders
- Consultative, influencing, strategic thinking and problem solving skills
- Effective team player able to work across multiple functions and disciplines and possess strong collaboration skills to manage issues across functions and with business leadership and HR team
- Represents the HR function by communicating philosophies, processes and capabilities to managers
- Maintains a working knowledge of employment laws, market practices, general business environment and applies these operationally
- Facilitate resolution to complex employee relations matters and minimizing risks to company
- Lead and/or contribute to the development and implementation of new and existing HR programs
- Responsible for the tracking and trending of HR data in areas of responsibility
- Supports the annual review process and ongoing performance management to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organizations the role covers
- Provides input to the functional HR plans and objectives
- Leads or contributes to initiatives that will enhance motivation, team-building and general welfare
- Ability to independently interact and build relationships with all levels of management is imperative, including executive management
- Responsible for coordinating and/or delivering required compliance training to the company
- Act as role model for the values of the company and personally demonstrate behavior consistent with our culture
Qualifications Experience
- At least 7 years HR experience in both Generalist and Specialist roles (Employee Relations, Coaching/Facilitation, Organizational Design, Organizational Effectiveness, etc.)
- Undergraduate degree in business or related HR field
- HR certifications preferred (PHR and/or SPHR)
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarity with IT systems, particularly HR applications
- Some travel required (25%)
- Proactive collaboration within a HR team
- Demonstrated ability to impact and influence leaders
- Operating experience within a complex, changing environment
- Change management expertise preferred
