TRG is currently engaged in a retained search for a Director of Human Resources for a rapidly growing industrial construction engineering firm.  Having doubled their sales in the last 4 years, this outstanding company has grown through the recession, and is well positioned to continue building on this success.  This is an excellent opportunity to take advantage of your ability to make a difference and leverage your human resource career with a growing, profitable company in the top Human resource role. 

From an HR perspective this company has grown from a moderate sized regional player into 850 person firm specializing in the engineering, fabrication, construction, and installation of large industrial process equipment and their related mechanical systems.  With active projects throughout the Southeastern U.S., this company is looking for a seasoned human resources professional with proven success guiding the human resources efforts of a large industrial construction company.  With the pace that this firm is growing, it will be important to identify an individual  with a strong human resources generalist background who can not only drive HR strategy, but who has also had experience recruiting and developing teams of highly skilled trades/crafts persons.  This highly visible position will be a key member of the management team and have the necessary support at the C level to truly influence the cultural evolution that will come with their continued organizational growth.  

Ultimately this role will have direct responsibility for human resources policies and procedures, all levels of hiring, benefits design and administration, personnel development, objectives and appraisals, compliance with State and Federal laws and regulations, etc.   The ideal person for this role is a degreed professional (BS Human Resources, Business, Engineering - an MBA would be a plus) with ten or more years of increasing human resources leadership responsibility, including experience working for a large industrial construction related firm.  The person fortunate enough to take on this role will experience the creativity and freedom to establish policies and procedures as well as the best practices that will move the company forward.  

Background Requirements:

 

·         Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (BS Human Resources, Business, Engineering - an MBA would be a plus) along with 10+ years of Human Resource leadership responsibility, including at least 3 meaningful years in an industrial construction related environment firm

·         Strong HR Generalist with a proven record of developing and executing a human resources strategy; including putting the team and infrastructure in place necessary to successfully execute the plan.

·         Someone who is a believer in "management by objectives"; including the ability to work effectively with supervisors and managers to develop a robust objectives and evaluation process.

·         Strong proficiency in all areas of Human Resources including but not limited to:

o   Strong service attitude in meeting hiring needs of rapidly growing business, especially trade crafts hiring

o   Knowledge of federal and state employment laws

o   Knowledge and experience in cost controls/finance

o   Experience in salary administration

·         Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization, including with staff at remote locations, is essential.
