Position Description:

Director, Human Resources

Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the position will be responsible for partnering with the management team by providing a full range of support, including, but not limited to staffing, performance management, employee relations, benefits, administration and compliance . The HR Business Partner acts as a partner to the line by embedding corporate HR strategy and providing professional HR guidance and support to relevant internal client groups with the objective of adding value to the business.

Position Responsibilities:

·          Strategic Business Partner with a mindset and an ability to earn respect and trust of operation managers across SEN.  The successful candidate must be able to possess a proactive and constructive style of engagement with business leaders to help drive business results.

·          Support line managers in forecasting and planning their talent pipeline requirements in line with the function/business strategy

·          This position will serve as a “hands on” business partner; with dotted line direct reports in some areas of the Human Resources Department.

·          Manage day-to-day tasks including activities related to: employee relations, compensation, recruitment and report generation; serving as an employee resource regarding benefits, policies and procedures.

·          Primary focus will be to serve as the HR Business Partner to North America Services in addition to providing HR Business Partner support to Finance, IT and Supply Chain. 

·          Assist with the communication, and implementation of organizational policies, and ensure that the organization’s policies are met and comply with local, state, and federal labor laws.

·          Provide expertise and consultative support to management regarding employee relations matters;

·          Manage new hire, transfer, and exit interview processes including, reports, documents, and correspondence related to all aspects of employment.

·          Facilitate long-term initiatives aligned with the strategic agenda

·          Provide expert advice and coaching to employees when appropriate

·          Understand employee opinions and anticipate their needs and concerns

·          Review and benchmark the internal and external environment to improve the HR policies and initiatives

·          Identify and drive the communication and sharing of best practices across functions to facilitate continuous improvement

·          Act as a liaison between the line and HR to ensure that HR services are aligned with internal client needs

·          Identify new opportunities where HR can add value to the business

·          Maintain a knowledge of progressive HR practices and key trends

·          Ensure that a strong leadership and coaching culture permeates the organization

·          Manage specific projects as determined in the annual HR operational plan and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives

 

Requirements:

·          Thorough knowledge of HR procedures (benefits, compensation, employee relations, payroll, training, performance management)

·          Clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between HR and business strategy

·          Ability to develop clear, actionable steps in support of an overall business strategy

·          A minimum of 5 years HR Management  experience

·          General knowledge of employment laws and practices

·          Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations or government law.

·          Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills

·          The ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a  changing environment

·          Ability to work with senior management and employees on all levels

·          Effective oral and written communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

·          Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.

·          Bachelors Degree, Professional School or equivalent experience required.
