Serve as the strategic HR Business Partner on the CGT cross functional business leadership team to develop and implement HR initiatives and policies that deliver business performance and establish short, medium and long term strategies in alignment with the Cummins Corporate vision for the business; this includes strategies on the selection and retention of the diverse talent required to maintain a competitive advantage. The HR Director is also an active member of the HR Leadership team for the Power Generation Business Unit, which is one of the four main business units of Cummins. The responsibilities of the CGT HR Director include:

•Provide global HR leadership direction across the CGT various sites/locations and liaise with Corporate, Regional Leaders and peer HR professionals to ensure all locations globally operate within the appropriate “in country” framework driving consistency of approach relating to employee relations; including key government legislated requirements and adherence to human resources policies and procedures applicable to their countries/regions.
•Communicate and consult on all areas of HR including: compensation, benefits, staffing, organizational development, employee relations, and performance management in alignment with common global HR strategies and processes.
•Coach and mentor one or two levels of direct reports across the global network of CGT locations; assigns work according to availability, skills, and developmental needs; assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports; create the environment that allows employees to achieve high performance.
•Identify short to medium term HR and functional resources thereby developing initiatives and tactics aligned with the annual operating plan and business objectives as well as prepare the annual business plan/financial plan for the HR function.
•Direct the workforce simulation and planning process for the business with implementation of how to flex the workforce to respond to the variation in business levels and prepare the business for continued growth.
•Guide and influence activities related to new or consolidated sites, acquisitions and Joint Ventures.
•Provide employee development expertise, and oversee systems to drive continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
•Evaluates key performance indicators to drive functional and business performance improvements related to HR investments.

You should ideally be educated to CIPD or degree standard in Human Resources. You should also have significant leadership and commercial experience gained in complex, multi-sited, international manufacturing organizations. You should have strong influencing skills and be capable of communicating effectively across all levels of the organization.
