Human Resources Generalist


Tasks:
- Provides support in the areas of staffing, recruitment and selection,
employee relations, wage and salary administration, and employee
training/orientation.
- Supports planning and coordination of staff and management development
training programs, including conducting needs assessment, preparation
of program objectives, development of course materials and training
aids.
- Assists in the review and creation of new and/or revised job
descriptions.
- Provides Human Resources support and direction to supervisors and
employees with the purpose of supporting the business imperatives,
enhancing performance, and gaining a return on investment.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters
of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work
nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To assist the Call Center in achieving business objectives, the HR Generalist provides proactive planning, day-to-day solutions, and accurate and timely information to all client groups and constituencies.
• Acting as an internal consultant on HR matters, this incumbent demonstrates a high level of integrity, a strong depth of knowledge, and a proactive approach to customer service.
• Provides advice and counsel to managers, supervisors and employees regarding Human Resources policies, procedures, benefits, recruiting, HR programs, HR training and employee relations.
• Under general supervision, and with consult of HR Director, answers and researches questions related to HR issues and interprets policy where clear-cut procedures do not exist.
• Compiles and maintains HR statistics, acting as a resource for questions pertaining to employee benefits, FMLA administration, state short term disability insurance administration, and unemployment compensation administration.
• Assists constituencies with employee relations matters by appropriately investigating and researching information, soliciting resources and resolving issues in an expeditious manner.
• Facilitates training for supervisory and management employees on a variety of human resources subject matters.
• Presents new hire orientation related to HR programs, policies and procedures to foster positive perceptions of the Call Center.
• Supports Corporate Benefits, Employee Relations, Payroll, Training and Compensation in implementing special projects and programs as needed.
• Coordinates employee activities, programs and events.
• Other duties as assigned.

- Bachelors Degree or Equivalent

- Generally requires 0-2 years related experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Specialized knowledge of general Human Resources policies, program, methods, practices and procedures related to Employee Relations, Staffing, Compensation, Benefits, EEO/AAP Administration and Employee Activities
• Working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and Local laws and regulations related to the Human Resources function including, but not limited to, FLSA, ADA, Civil Rights Act of 1964, and FMLA
• Good computer skills including working knowledge of spreadsheets.
• 3+ years experience in Human Resources as a generalist.
