HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER

 

 

PURPOSE:

 

The Human Resource Manager is responsible for administering all Human Resource programs including compensation and benefit plans, providing assistance with staffing, helping managers with employee issues, maintaining personnel records and timely processing of the company’s payroll.

 

REPORTS TO:

 

The Human Resource Manager reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

·         Accurately process the company’s payroll each cycle and maintain appropriate payroll records, files and backup data to comply with all business and legal payroll requirements.

·         Administer all company benefit plans and maintain records, files and back up to meet all legal requirements.

·         Assist managers with staff/employment issues by placing newspaper advertisements, job postings, working with temporary agencies and taking other appropriate steps to identify high quality, qualified candidates and maintain required files.

·         Set up and maintain all employee files and records and keep required back up data.

·         Assist managers and supervisors in solving employee issues.

·         Administer the company’s performance management system and maintain appropriate records and files.

·         Advises management on HR programs and policies.

·         Interpret benefit policies, programs and procedures.

 

EDUCATION: 

 

BA/BS or AS degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience with 5 or more years of payroll or human resource background. A certificate in personnel administration is desired.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

 

·         Knowledge and experience working in an HR department.

·         Experience with payroll and financial record keeping procedures.

·         Strong computer skills.

·         Experience with payroll and HR software and/or a corporate business system.

·         Effective oral and written communications skills.

·         Ability to resolve and eliminate employee issues.

·         Professional level knowledge of benefit and HR policies.

·         Accuracy, confidentiality and employee trust are critical to this position.
