Liberty Mutual is currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Professional who thrives on partnering with Business Managers to enable the attainment of their organization's business objectives by delivering Human Resources programs and services.
This role is responsible for providing operational and consultative support to business managers; equipping managers with the tools and techniques which enable them to manage staff in alignment with human resources philosophies, policies, practices, and programs. This position will require in-depth knowledge of the HR generalist functions (including talent management processes) and broad understanding of other HR specialties. This role is responsible for guiding and directing employees to tools and resources they need (including HR) to effectively do their jobs, develop their skills, and manage their careers.
Responsibilities:
- Executes day-to-day HR responsibilities, applying comprehensive knowledge of policies and procedures in the following areas: Employee Relations, Compensation, HR Policy and Procedures, Workplace Safety, Benefits, and Recruiting (if applicable)
- Determines the actions that support alignment of HR and business strategies. Makes recommendations to managers and influences execution. Balances interests of managers and employees.
- Helps managers solve complex people-related business problems by analyzing issues across a function or operation, identifying root causes, evaluating alternative solutions, and taking action quickly and efficiently.
- Organize data from multiple sources, identifying trends, and proactively presents solutions to improve operational effectiveness. Reviews solutions on an ongoing basis and recommends adjustments as needed.
- Identifies the impact/implications of Corp/SBU HR/regional initiatives on the business and the workforce for a defined territory or geography. Develops communication plans using business-relevant information.
- Assists with assessing the organization's current state and readiness for change. Collaborates with managers to conduct preliminary risk analyses, makes recommendations, communicates plans and expectations, and implements necessary changes. Demonstrates basic organizational design capabilities.
- Coaches managers to develop clear objectives and development plans, to provide coaching and feedback during the year, and to evaluate individual and group performance. Manages the process of performance rating review and calibration processes within defined scope.
- Coaches managers on assessing and developing talent, and recommends actions to build organizational bench strength for management positions. Acts as a resource to employees on career development. Manages the process of talent review and calibration processes within defined scope.
- Coaches managers through employee relations issues of varying complexity, providing guidance on conversations with employees, the employee relations process, and potential legal issues. Involves appropriate resources as necessary and may participate in investigations.
- Partners with management to optimize employee engagement levels by coaching them on effective on-boarding practices, analyzing and communicating EOS results, and recommending actions to support employee retention.
- May train, coach, and serve as technical resource to other HR Generalists and Representatives.
- May represent SBU in Corporate Projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent; 3 to 6 years of Human Resources experience
- PHR/SPHR certification a plus
- Experience initiating and leading Human Resources projects and ability to work with senior managers in business units.
- Employee Relations experience and Data Analysis capabilities a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to develop and foster client relationships.
