POSITION OVERVIEW

 

SBM is seeking an energized candidate looking to use his/her education in a fast paced working environment. As the HR Generalist you will be interfacing with business partners, seasoned management, and Fortune 500 high level clients.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

·         Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Business Administration

·         1 to 2 years experience working in a human resources role

·         Bi-Lingual (English / Spanish) is required

·         Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure materials

·         Strong written and verbal communications skills

·         Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume

·         Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

·         Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

·         Strong skills in MS Excel and Word

 

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·         Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.

·         Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.

·         Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.

·         Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.

·         Trains management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.

·         Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.

·         Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.

·         Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.

·         Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.

·         Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.

·         Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.

·         Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.

·         Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.

·         Some travel is required for this position.

 

COMPENSATION

 

·         Annual Salary range is $32,000 - $45,000, DOE

·         An attractive health benefits is offered, that includes medical, dental and vision plans, and two weeks of paid vacation
