Summary: This position will be based primarily in Cleveland, OH and the surrounding area . The Human Resources Generalist partners with assigned client groups to address employee and management needs, supporting the day-to-day activities of all HR functions. The Generalist will provide a full spectrum of HR services to support the management and administration of projects and programs, including but not limited to, employee relations, compensation, benefits, leaves, new hire onboarding and orientation. Essential Functions: -Develop and maintain positive, effective employee relations with employees, supervisors and managers in respective client groups. -Spend significant time interfacing directly with employees/client base, participate in team meetings, establish trust and credibility, be seen by employees as approachable and fair, and balance business and employee needs. -Provide subject matter expertise to employees on HR-related issues by answering questions, interpreting and administering policies, and assisting to resolve work-related problems. -Investigate and resolve basic/routine issues and concerns impacting the work environment (e.g., attendance, work rule violations, progressive discipline, and performance improvement). -Monitor the morale of the employees and provide feedback to the management team as appropriate. -Assist in the resolution of employee relations and organizational effectiveness challenges and opportunities. -Maintain employee records in a manner that is compliant with regulatory bodies and consistent with organizational standards. -Process terminations, ensure exit interviews for employee separations, prepare supporting documentation and participate in unemployment hearings of impacted employees. -Drive continuous improvement in HR processes, and assist in the development and implementation of HR projects and initiatives. -Other related duties, responsibilities, projects, and cross-functional assignments required to support business objectives. Qualifications: -Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required. -Minimum two to five years of related human resources experience; PHR or SPHR certification a plus. -Working knowledge of local, state, and federal laws governing employment practices. -Demonstrated competence in all areas of Human Resources, including but not limited to, employee relations, employment law, leaves, benefits, and compensation. -Advanced PC skills including Microsoft Office; experience with PeopleSoft, BrassRing and other HR-related databases preferred. -Able to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency and superb client relationship skills. -Possess strong business acumen with good analytical/problem solving skills and strong attention to detail. -Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills are required, as well as ability to work both independently and in a team environment. -Valid driver's license with safe driving record, and ability to travel within NEO and Midwest Region as needed. -Must successfully complete pre-employment substance abuse testing and successfully pass a thorough background check including criminal record, education/ employment history and driving record.
