Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Database Analyst
The HRIS Writer/Analyst provides advanced HR information systems analytical services and support to the Human Resources staff and HR Management officials. Serves as the Technical Lead on business process reengineering teams, requirement analysis teams, and/or implementation and conversion teams. Works directly with information systems specialists to develop, design, and setup software applications for the conversion of HR business practices to computer systems. Establishes comprehensive data study criteria to identify and validate the needs of current and future functions, processes, procedures, and missions within the Office of Human Resources. Writes accurate, comprehensive, and detailed reports that reflect relational data to make and support sound recommendations. The primary focus is on data analysis and reporting versus HR experience; however Federal HR data experience is preferred. This position requires the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Ability to create, develop, extract, interpret, integrate, and analyze data and reports from automated HR databases
- Retrieve data from a data warehouse and other databases, chart and analyze data, spot trends, and make recommendations to management.
- Ability to validate and analyze OHR data to identify problems
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and MS Access for data collection, analysis, and charts presentation
- Knowledge of Business Objects or similar object based tool, preferred but not mandatory
- SQL report writing from a relational database, preferred but not mandatory
- FOCUS Reports/National Finance Center (NFC) database fields and operations experience, preferred but not mandatory
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Provides customer assistance that reflects a thorough knowledge of and adherence to sound human resources regulations; responses to customer inquiries should be thorough and complete. Customers should comprehend and understand (but not necessarily agree with) the response to the inquiry. Responds to customer feedback and enhances processes based on customer feedback as appropriate.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and foster open communication
