Human Resources Intern

University Emergency Medicine Foundation (UEMF) is an Academic Emergency Medical Practice, with over 85 full-time physicians, several midlevels, various part-time providers, and a full support team. As a Department of Brown University School of Medicine, UEMF provides staffing of Board Certified Emergency Physicians to the region's only Level I Trauma Center as well as the State's only Children's Specialty Emergency Department; and to a leading Community Hospital. Over 200,000 patients annually are treated by UEMF providers.

We are currently offering an exciting Human Resources Internship opportunity for an enthusiastic, organized, and detailed-oriented professional looking to apply classroom concepts and knowledge to the work environment. UEMF’s Human Resources department strives to provide interns with professional development in all facets of HR that will assist them in acquiring the skills necessary for future advancement.

The ultimate goal of Human Resources is to provide a positive and nurturing work environment where employees can excel and reach their maximum potential. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·         Assisting the Human Resources Manager with the full-life cycle of recruitment, including drafting and posting jobs, initial screening of resumes, scheduling applicants, etc.
·         Preparing necessary paperwork for the on boarding process
·         Coordinating and organizing Human Resources files, including scanning personnel files for going electronic, preparing annual file audits, updating paperwork, and filing
·         Reviewing monthly benefit enrollment reports to carrier invoices and updating when needed
·         Assisting with reviewing and updating personnel policies and procedures manuals and making them available electronically

Requirements

·         Must be currently enrolled at an accredited University or College as an undergraduate junior or senior or graduate student in a declared major of Human Resources or a similar discipline

·         Must be available to work 32-40 hours per week (mid May through August – flexible)

·         Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 

·         Effective written and verbal communicator

·         Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Power Point, and Access applications

·         Ability to possess a high degree of discretion, professionalism and maturity in the workplace.

·         Prior office experience preferred
