Human Resources Manager Job in North York, Ontario Canada

Our client, a leading food manufacturing company located in the North York area is looking to add a Human Resources Manager to its team. This is a very large company with 24/7 operations and has approximately 200 employees. This organization has multiple locations throughout Canada and the US and is growing both through expansion and acquisitions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the Human Resources within one specific manufacturing facility.

We are looking for an individual who has the ability to work within a fast-paced environment and is able to contribute to the success of the growing organization’s current and future goals and objectives.


The responsibilities of this role include:

- Achieve business objectives by assessing the current state of the company and developing a forward looking Human Resource Strategy.
-Provide support to the Facility Leadership team in the areas of cultural transformation, management development and succession planning, performance management, training and team building.
-Identify process gaps at the business unit level and proactively work with the operations team to generate solutions.
-Identify and further develop the company culture in order to promote positive employee relations and a high level of employee engagement.
- Forecast and analyze workforce-planning data and provide feedback to management team.
- Lead staffing practices that will ensure the attraction, retention and motivation of staff as well as facilitate orientation of new hires.
- Work with Corporate Human Resources to assist with implementation of pro-active labor strategies, initiatives and programs.
-Lead training and development initiatives that will develop the knowledge, skills and attributes of the 200+ employees preparing them for the future.
- Identify the need for and write Human Resource policies, programs and practices that support and drive the company’s strategic goals.

Desired Skills and Experience:

- A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations or Human Resources (or equivalent), a CHRP designation, along with 7+ years of experience in the field of HR is required.
-Expertise in partnering with internal clients and building credibility.
-Knowledge and experience building and developing organizational effectiveness program
-Current knowledge of Canadian HR Legislation and employment laws.
-Familiarity with using metrics to measure and report progress to client group and within organization.
-The ability to provide consultative advice to management and employees on all aspects of Coaching and Developing, Attendance Management and Corrective Action.
-Strong conflict resolution skills with a consistent ability to remain objective.
-Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
-Excellent leadership, organizational, multi-tasking and presentation skills.
