Human Resources Manager, Manager, Labor Relations - union/labor experience needed
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; with 7 - 10 year related experience and/or training.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Payroll systems; Human Resource systems and Project Management software.
Certificates and Licenses: PHR, SPHR, or GPHR preferred.

To provide a broad range of HR support to the operational facilities and business leadership. This position has a key impact on the organizations performance by providing support that includes, but
is not limited to, driving organizational change as a key business partner, labor and employee relations, project management, administrative expertise, people development, communication, compliance, and policy/procedure development and interpretation.
Other duties may be assigned.
Leadership and project management responsibility for corporate HR initiatives to include scope development, project coordination, and vendor selection / management.
Supports the human resources function in creating a business environment where individuals and teams make measurable contributions to business profitability.
Deliver HR services in a timely and effective manner - be brilliant at the basics. Support the
continuous improvement of HR capability throughout the organization. Plans and administers policies relating to all phases of human resources activity.
Improve organizational capability to effectively implement key business initiatives with speed and sustainability. Provide oversight and support, as needed, to HR personnel within our international operations.
Promote and participate in planning and implementation of communication strategies which deliver accurate, consistent and timely information to internal and external customers.
Coach and educate business managers regarding work rules, labor principles, legal parameters, best practices and business direction to ensure fairness, consistency, and alignment with organization direction and objectives.
Provides problem resolution support for managers and other employees. Conducts investigations to identify issues and develop appropriate action plans thereafter.
Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
This is a is a high visibility role, reporting to an executive who travels a lot
We are looking for a person who is currently employed with a large manufacturer.
Must have experience with the management in labor relations
"at least 10 years in labor law and/or labor relations. HR generalists with IR expertise would also be good, but that can't merely have "dabbled" in it -- they need to have negotiated at least one major contract and otherwise owned a collective bargaining relationship."
* Support assigned client group in all aspects of Industrial Relations, providing both strategic and tactical direction to meet deliverables.
* Align HR practices to help drive the organization's strategic labor initiatives.
* Provide HR support in the areas of employee relations, AAP/EEO compliance, diversity inclusion, compensation benefits, staffing/recruiting, training, employee engagement and other related HR activities.
* Manage local grievance activity and ensures successful outcomes at first and second step processes.
* Coach and guide supervisors in managing effectively to the contract and meeting business objectives.
* Use continuous improvement tools and processes to improve HR effectiveness.
* Prepare and deliver reports and presentations, performs in depth data analysis as needed in support of business objectives and to measure and ensure HR effectiveness.

Skills and Certifications
Juris Doctor degree preferred
HR experience should have grown over 10+ yrs
* Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business or related field.
* JD degree preferred.
* 10+ years progressively responsible experience in Human Resources at a large, complex corporation, with specific background working with unionized workforce.
* Excellent written and verbal communication.
* Must be able to work in a fast-paced team setting. Superior interpersonal skills.
* Strong ability to lead, manage, coach and guide staff.
* Superior business judgment and decision making skills.
