General Summary

Plans and administers policies relating to all phases of human resources activity.

Responsibilities

·         Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance with state, federal, EEOC, AAP, and OSHA requirements.

·         Advises Plant Manager in appropriate resolution of employee related issues. 

·         Prepares reports for management upon request.

·         Ensures the development of effective training programs.

·         Ensures the performance appraisal process is timely executed. 

·         Counsels Lettieri’s personnel in resolving job-related problems.  Assists management with employee discipline, up to and including termination.

·         Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs.

·         Administers and oversees benefits, worker's compensation, recruitment, leave of absences, performance review program, and compensation.

·         Manages hiring process, including recruiting, advertising, interviewing, employment screening, offer letters, contracts and non-compete statements for new hires. 

·         Prepares separation notices and related documentation.  Conducts exit interviews. 

·         Represents company during legal inquiries, hearings and investigations.

·         Provides customer service to all company employees by acting as a contact person for questions relating to all areas of Human Resources.  Prepares correspondence to inform employees of changes.

·         Coordinate and oversee the Safety Committee, includes organizing and scheduling monthly safety meetings, tracking attendance, updating presentations, and assisting supervisors to present. 

·         Coordinate and oversee the SWAT Team.

·         Maintain the original MSDS sheets for production and ensure other books are maintained.  Maintain all documentation for OSHA.  

·         Oversee accident investigation process to determine accountability and future prevention.

·         Analyze accident data to identify trends and accident types that can be prevented.

·         Process weekly timesheets for Lettieri’s hourly employees; verifying hours, scheduled time off and vacation/personal time off etc.  Monitoring Award Staffing weekly hours and invoices and directing them through the proper channels.

·         Lead the development and implementation of a strong occupational health and safety management program to create an “injury-free” environment.

·         Conducts workers compensation claims management.  Monitors workers compensation cases with insurance carrier to assist with rapid closure of claims.  Maintains strong working relationships with the company’s insurance carrier to maximize efforts in administering and improving the claims management process.

·         Research federal, State and Local regulations to define existing and upcoming legal obligations and requirements of associated Safety programs and policies.

·         Responsible for site security program including audits and associated follow-up.

·         Lead plant evacuation drills and assessment.

·         Selects and identifies the use of personal protective equipment.
