HR MANAGER / CONSULTANT POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for successfully providing a broad range of human resource consulting services to client companies to maximize client management of human capital and positively impact client company profitability and BBSI initiatives and profitability.
RELATIONSHIP BASED POSITION: This position works in close partnership with the Client, and our internal Client Business Unit Members. Each Client Business Unit consists of an HR Manager, Risk Manager, Payroll Manager, WC Claims Manager; and Staffing Manager if applicable for the client.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for the ongoing development and delivery of customized human resource service solutions that positively impact clients business, and result in retention and growth for BBSI.
- Responsible for providing guidance, training and support to clients in the areas of strategic human capital management, employment law compliance, benefits administration, employee relations, organization development, workers’ compensation administration and the overall development of best practices in human capital management.
- Responsible for all components of implementing new clients into BBSI’s human resources and payroll processing systems, timely and error-free payroll processing for new clients for two to three payroll cycles before handoff to payroll team, accurate and compliant new hire paperwork for all employees, delivery of comprehensive and customized employee and management orientation programs for new clients to ensure a smooth, error-free transition.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required, including ensuring that client is evolving in their internal processes, practices and internal culture.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Advanced degree is a plus.
- Eight to ten years HR generalist experience or equivalent.
- PHR (Professional in Human Resources) or SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) through HRCI (Human Resources Certification Institute). Equivalent expertise will be considered.
- Prior experience or exposure to payroll processing, including knowledge of wage and hour laws.
- Experience in operations, finance, management, sales, training, staffing and/or business consulting a plus.
Areas of Knowledge, Skill and Ability:
- Thorough understanding of human resources principles and practices, including employment laws and regulations. This includes self-directed maintenance on knowledge of current laws, events, industry trends and economic factors that may impact BBSI and its clients.
- Demonstrated proficiency in conducting root cause analysis to determine optimum solutions to solve human resource issues.
- Ability to conduct comprehensive HR needs assessments and analyses.
- Ability to benchmark, measure, analyze and articulate the value and ROI of HR initiatives, practices and policies.
- Knowledge of HR metrics and ability to assess and implement long-term goals and balance against short and intermediate-term needs of client companies.
- Ability to complete high-volume work load, meet critical deadlines and work, with enthusiasm, through constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Ability to relate positively within a diverse workforce at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver successful presentations to individuals and groups at all levels of an organization.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards and a strong sense of self-accountability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prepare company-wide business correspondence and documents, including employee handbooks, policies and procedures, employee and performance management documents, and other professional correspondence.
- Proven leadership and strong business acumen.
· Converse professionally by telephone, in writing, and in person in an appropriate fashion, to ensure customers and employees are properly addressed in a precise manner.
- Experienced with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Bilingual skills a plus.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to use your own vehicle.
- Proof of valid automobile insurance meeting BBSI coverage criteria.
- Roughly 45% of time spent out of the office – primarily local – working with clients at their location
