Human Resources Specialist Job in Manchester M11ED, North West UK

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our client Unilever are currently looking for an experienced Human Resources Operations Specialist based at Unilever's Trafford Park FMCG site based in Manchester. This is temp role for up to 6 months, paying £30,000.00 pro rata depending on experience.

Background:
To support the ongoing implementation of changed HR processes and systems as part of Unilever's HR Transformation Programme, each of the transformed and outsourced countries requires a number of HR Ops Specialists. These roles will act as an operational and transactional support interface between HR Business Partners/ Line Managers and the outsourced service delivery teams (both Accenture for core HR and Ernst Young for Expatriation services). They will also act as an interface in cross-border transactions for HRBPs and work with HRBPs to drive up business adoption of the newly transformed processes, through supporting the launch of new tools and processes, and acting as a coach and super-user in their country.

The final organisation structure for HR in the SC in the UK will be 1 HRBP and 1 HR Ops Specialist per cluster, with 1 additional HR Ops Specialist supporting the N.West and Leeds Region.

Mobility:
The HR Operations Specialist roles in the S.East, S.West and Midlands clusters and other HR Operations Specialist role when operating across a cluster will need to work in person in both sites, spending time in both on a weekly or fortnightly basis in both locations or the role could be delivered by 2 part-time roles in the separate locations. Business needs cars and relocation will be considered on a case by case basis and supporting if the roles meet the relevant criteria.
Cover:
In the event of absence of a HR Operations Specialist cover will have to be provided by the HRBP/temporary resource or short-term cover from within the HR Ops specialists network (with the systems set-up behind the scenes to facilitate this).

Job Evaluation:
This role has been evaluated as a Hay Level 15 role and will be aligned with the relevant site/cluster job and grading system.

HR Operations Specialists will be talented and high-caliber professionals, who will form a core part of the delivery of excellent services and processes on site. They will be "doers" but also coaches for HRBPs on new processes, and escalators of issues for resolution which they cannot do themselves.

The role of the HR Ops specialist is to provide support/advise to the HRBP and operational leader team on all people issues including, Disciplinary, Grievance, Attendance management, Performance management, Trade Union interfaces, Training and Recruitment. To interface with the HR service provider (Accenture) to deliver a full HR support service. Undertake any ad hoc project work as directed by the HRBP.
Confidentiality, diplomacy, communication and influencing skills
PeopleSoft skills are very desirable, but not absolutely necessary. Understanding of core HR transactional processes is more critical, as is a strong user knowledge of MS Office applications
Attention to detail and accuracy in recording data and administration
Organisation of workload is critical - being able to manage multiple requests and prioritise activities
Good verbal and written command of the English language for cross border work
Good working knowledge of employment law

CIPD qualified preferable or working towards this qualification
Experience of Trade Union environment within manufacturing organisations
Inquisitive nature - it is important that issues are firstly identified in all areas of the new processes, but the fix needs to be put in place to ensure the issues will not reoccur. This role will be critical, firstly in identifying service issues, and secondly in assisting with the implementation of long term fixes.
