HVAC Mechanical Engineer

 

Position:

* Engineer responsible for the overall reliability and efficiency of the HVAC, mechanical and critical Utility systems in support of a 24/7 Biologics manufacturing operation.  Ensure critical utilities are running at optimal efficiency and reliability and are within GMP compliance at all times.

* This position is to provide HVAC/Mechanical engineering support for systems such as HVAC, Boilers, cooling towers, cold rooms, freezers and refrigerators and chillers.  This person will be the site SME for management of ozone depletion substances.

* Other responsibilities is to provide engineering support for other Critical utilities such as, air compressors, hot water package units, heat exchangers, and pure steam generators.

* This person will be able to perform minor software changes within the Siemens Apogee BMS in support of maintenance activities and operational improvements.  Some usage of Allen Bradley PCS and OSI PI software is required.

* This position is responsible for ensuring proper preventative and predictive maintenance routines are performed on these systems to ensure the highest level of reliability at a reasonable cost. 

* This position is responsible for implementing operational improvement to these utility systems

to reduce energy consumption.

 

* Other duties will include...

* Responsible engineer for some utility systems

* Direct non-exempt trades personnel

* Project Manager (PM) for HVAC and mechanical significant maintenance or project work.

* Provide system operational KPI's to department head.

* Interact with other departments including Engineering, Facilities, Manufacturing, Validation Quality

  Assurance

Qualifications

* Engineering and project management skills within a GMP facility

* Manage the Hepa certification program

* Change control management for validated systems

* Development of maintenance routines and SOP's.

 

Education:

BS Engineering Discipline or AS degree and 7 years of direct engineering experience.

 

Must have HVAC and refrigeration background.
