Hydraulic Laboratory Engineering Technican

Job Description Job Description: Our Redmond, WA office has an opening for an engineering technician to work in our physical hydraulic modeling laboratory. Work requires operation and maintenance of physical hydraulic models, and requires a general knowledge of fluid mechanics, hydraulics, pumps and turbines, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems, as well as general data collection, analysis, and reporting procedures. Activities will include model setup and operation, assisting with engineering calculations; setting up, calibrating and operating hydraulic laboratory instrumentation; inspecting equipment and engineering installations for compliance with specifications; and maintaining project documentation. Qualifications: Associate's degree in engineering technology or related subject. Having a bachelor's degree will be considered as a plus. 2-5 years experience in engineering laboratory or similar field. Talented recent graduates with relevant courses and strong commitment to become an outstanding member of our hydraulic engineering team will be considered as well. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD are required. Experience with instrumentation and computer-based data acquisition systems for physical hydraulic modeling and field research is highly desirable. Hands-on experience with trades such as carpentry, pipefitting, steel fabrication, and electronics is a plus. Proven skills in data collection and presentation as well as verbal and written communication must be commensurate with the position.
