Hygiene Manager Job in Notts/Lincs, Midlands UK

Hygiene Manager - Lincs / Notts - to 35k plus benefits - days nights based role.

Overall role purpose:

To facilitate effective management of the hygiene systems on site. To verify and validate methods and standards. To report and take appropriate action to safeguard the business if hygiene related non-compliances are uncovered. To lead a motivated team in achieving departmental and business Key Performance Indicators in line with departmental and company objectives.

Role-Specific Skills

 

Ø       To ensure that all daily, periodic and deep cleaning is carried out according to the cleaning schedules and that schedules are available for new equipment.

Ø       To review the cleaning schedules on a regular basis to ensure adequate ongoing hygiene of equipment.

Ø       To ensure the positive release of equipment at the end of cleaning, using an ATP system in designated areas.

Ø       To raise the awareness of hygiene throughout the site.

Ø       To ensure that Health and Safety rules (including COSHH) are complied with and that staff are fully aware of their Health Safety responsibilities.

Ø       To ensure that Food Handling and Hygiene rules are complied with at all times.

Ø       To carry out appropriate disciplinary procedures in line with the Company policy and procedures.

Ø       To ensure that staff are suitably trained to carry out their duties.

Ø       To carry out staff appraisals in accordance with company policy.

Ø       To manage the laundry to ensure that all staff have adequate provision of clean protective clothing.

Ø       To evaluate and recommend the training requirements within the Hygiene department and to arrange such training when authorised and appropriate to do so.

Ø       Responsible for the documenting and signing off of all cleaning.

Ø       To report any non-conformances in hygiene procedures or schedules to the Factory Manager.

Ø       To manage the hygiene budget and make recommendations for cost reductions as necessary.

Ø       To prepare the site for audits, ensuring that all documentation is available and up to date.

Ø       To carry out investigation work when microbiological results fall out side of the specifications.

Ø       To be an active member of the site HACCP team.

Ø       To conduct trials of new chemicals and equipment, in conjunction with suppliers. 

Ø       To carry out any other duties commensurate with his/her training and experience as requested by the Technical Manager
