Will consider someone with strong Business Objects (BO) and light Hyperion.
Seeking an experienced technical professional with strong skills designing and implementing Hyperion performance management and planning tools, including Essbase. This position will provide collaborative technical design and development for analytical initiatives and technology projects, including implementation of the Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM, Hyperion) suite.
The Senior Developer will be highly skilled and knowledgeable of industry best practices in the area of budget planning and performance management, insuring that the delivered solutions and associated artifacts meet functional requirements, while adhering to university technical and governance standards.
Duties and responsibilities include:
· Develop technical solutions for the Hyperion implementation and follow-on projects:
· Play a key role in technical design, including translating functional requirements and conceptual design into cohesive technical design across multiple Hyperion products
· Analyze peer implementations of similar systems to provide best practices and guidelines for the technical architecture and implementation
· Support the development of progressively improved proof of concept demonstrations of functionality to be delivered
· Analyze and resolve systems issues
- Be the technical and data expert: profile and document data sources, develop the data movement strategy, address data issues
- Design and build technical deliverables
- Implement test and QA strategies and prepare for rollout
- Implement access strategy and security, and user access profiles for rollout
Lead the technical enhancement and maintenance of the production Hyperion application:
- Provide break-fix support and coordinate with BIS helpdesk on outage communications
- Troubleshoot and tune application databases, configuration, and code
- Coordinate and implement specified software patches and upgrades
Strategy and Planning
- Work closely with BIS and IT colleagues on technical best practices and standards, and coordination of user environments from different data and reporting systems
· Participate in the selection of related enabling tools, including software and consulting
· Provide expertise in performance management and planning best practices and emerging trends. This includes leveraging advanced functionality, and integrating with BI applications to support enterprise wide analysis and data sharing.
Education
Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree or equivalent is required.
Experience
Minimum of four years experience in Hyperion design and development (including architecture, Essbase, calculation scripts, performance tuning) in complex business and financial environments is required. A minimum of two years experience in enterprise implementations of Hyperion tools and systems is required, including lead technical roles. Proficiency in Unix/Linux OS required. Professional certifications in Hyperion are strongly preferred. Experience configuring and implementing the following preferred:
1. Hyperion Planning
2. Hyperion Strategic Finance
3. Unix Shell Scripting
Some experience installing and developing on EPM version 11.X desired.
Competencies
- Very strong Hyperion technical expertise
- Experience on multiple enterprise-level implementations of Hyperion, including as a technical lead
- Strong experience designing, developing, and optimizing Essbase
- Data analysis, profiling, movement (ETL) experience to support managing source data quality, cleanup, and movement to and from Hyperion
- Expert skills using MS Office Suite
- Experience with higher education budgeting and financial accounting systems is preferred
· Excellent written and oral communication skills, including translating complex technical concepts and issues into effective business cases for non-technical audiences
· Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks with competing deadlines
