Position Description:
The Hyperion Planning/Essbase Administrator will be providing day to day global systems support including analysis, issue resolutions, maintenance and training for global users of the Hyperion Planning/Essbase applications. This position will also support the HFM Administrator as needed. The position will stay current with all Oracle Hyperion BI releases/patches/bug fixes and evaluate system for potential application of fixes or enhancements.
The successful candidate will be customer-service oriented, highly motivated, a detail-oriented individual who enjoys challenges and is a quick learner with excellent systems, analytical, organizational and communication skills. This person must have a strong understanding of accounting consolidations, budgeting and forecasting, and preferably foreign currency translations. This position will work closely with a team of global finance colleagues (and therefore must be responsive to user requests outside of normal working hours due to time differences), accounting management, business partners, and a group of enthusiastic end users to continue delivering on future enhancement projects. This position interacts with varying levels of personnel, with various degrees of English language fluency, requiring the ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing. Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position; mistakes in work could cause substantial problems. This role reports directly to the Brink's Controller - Financial Planning Analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
-Daily maintenance of Hyperion Planning and Essbase applications
-Trouble shoot and resolve technical issues and work with business to solve functional issues
-Create/maintain system administration and calculation scripts. Modify the existing scripts to reduce the calculation run time.
-Understanding dependencies and interrelationships between functional components of Hyperion Planning among forms, business rules, calculation scripts, variables of Essbase databases.
-Monitor application performance, availability, and utilization.
-Responsible for ongoing system security and access management; including coordinating with IT, documenting user approvals and updating user/group profiles.
-Update and maintain existing reports/create new reports utilizing Hyperion reporting tools
-Develop, implement and maintain data cubes, dimensions, loading data, calculating data and aggregation techniques.
-Train new users as well as develop ongoing skill enhancement training for existing user base
-Support domestic and international users to resolve Hyperion Planning and Essbase issues.
-Update and maintain system administration and documentation, including training documentation.
-Act as a back-up Hyperion Financial Management administrator.
-Provide after hours support, as needed.
Position Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
-Minimum 3+ years of hands on experience handling Hyperion applications administration, specifically Hyperion Planning and Essbase
-Total 7+ years of experience
-Experience with technical accounting issues such as: intercompany eliminations, currency calculations, noncontrolling interest and equity methods
-Strong technical skills, including advanced Excel skills and strong exposure to financial consolidation and budgeting systems.
-Knowledge and experience programming Essbase with ASO and MDX
-Knowledge and experience programming Essbase with BSO and Maxl
-Considerable experience in the differences between BSO and ASO and how to optimize both methods
-Competency in dimensionality (sparse and dense)
Preferred Qualifications:
-Prior experience with Hyperion Financial Management is a plus
