Position Description

This requisition is for a manager to lead a team of Field Services representatives in support of the Indian Air Force (IAF) C-17 programme to be based at Hindon Air Base near Delhi. This position will support the C-17 Globemaster Integrated Sustainment Program contract within Boeing Defence Services and the successful candidate will play a significant role in developing, managing and shaping relationships with the IAF as the on-site program representative reporting through the C-17 Field Services Integrated Product Team. The manager will lead and integrate an International multi-discipline team comprising engineering, logistics, aircraft data management, aircraft support equipment and aircraft maintenance experts in this remote field environment, responsible for supporting daily C-17 sortie generation for the IAF through scheduling, documentation, field engineering technical support activities, support equipment maintenance and supply support.

Candidates must be capable of engaging effectively with senior IAF officers, government officials, industry representatives and Boeing enterprise stakeholders to understand issues and priorities and ensure delivery of high levels of support, innovative solutions and excellent customer service and satisfaction; a high degree of proficiency in spoken and written English is essential. The successful candidate will: monitor, report and execute budget and staffing plans; develop and establish policies, organizational structures and report against challenging performance targets. Candidates should have: demonstrated capability and experience in developing and negotiating creative solutions; experience in dealing with senior military and company officials; the ability to work independently under time constraints and stress in a International environment ; excellent communication and people skills; experience in supporting aircraft for fast-paced sortie generation during peacetime and "contingency surge" environments; and familiarity with military supply systems and maintenance practices and procedures.

Candidates will require proficiency working in a multi-disciplined environment, together with a high degree of tact and diplomacy and the ability to work in a demanding, on-call, around the clock operational environment. A good working knowledge of the Indian aerospace defence industry, including both public sector undertakings as well as private industry is highly desirable. The ability to obtain a secret security clearance is required. Prior leadership and management experience is essential, prior C-17 or other large transport aircraft experience is highly desirable.

Typical Education/Experience

A degree (preferably a technical bachelor's degree) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 12 or more years' experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
