IB F&BM – EMEA Power & Gas Product Controller – Associate – London recruitment

The EMEA Energy Product Control team consists of 6 professionals supporting approximately 35 front office staff in London.
They are a derivative and physical commodity business who trade in the European energy markets supporting customer requirements for Power, Gas and Emission based products in Europe.

The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of Power Gas markets, strong understanding of derivative products, combined with a financial reporting and control mindset.
They must be comfortable with complex structured transactions and have a strong understanding of the operational risks around the end to end product lifecycle.
Communication skills are particularly essential as the candidate will have a lot of daily face to face interaction with a demanding front office and will need to co-ordinate relationships with Finance, Technology and Operations.
Key Responsibilities:Daily PL and Risk production for the Trading deskUnderstanding and Explaining PL residualsClient Value and Portfolio Management analysisBalance Sheet Monitoring, Analysis and Usage ReviewContinually challenging the business' Target Operating ModelImplement improvements to the system infrastructure control environmentCoordination with IB Ops, IB Tech and Finance on projects and issue resolutionMonth end management (PL forecasts, Interaction with Fair Value group)Quarterly Corporate external reportingEconomic v GAAP differencesNew Business proposals (NBIA)Deliver support for new products and initiativesDrive standardisation of process, application and data source.

Qualifications
Skills RequiredAssociate with relevant experience within an Investment Bank.Strong Commodities knowledge. Specific Power Gas knowledge would be advantageous.Strong derivatives knowledge.Demonstrates very good Excel skills.
