Global Credit Risk Management Operations (GCRMO) supports the credit approval and decision making processes for Credit Risk Management. GCRMO is actively involved in the analysis of credit data and risk metrics. And also to identify trends and issues which may impact the bank's ability to manage credit risk.
Role Definition
- Responsible for day to day support of a portfolio or set of portfolios
- Establish effective partnerships with the respective Credit Executives and Corporate Bankers in supporting them around their role of active Credit Risk Management Monitoring.
- Responsible for maintaining the highest quality data in assigned portfolio(s). Understand and adhere to credit policy developments and referring appropriate queries to Corporate Bankers for their guidance.
- Focus on providing administrative support for new client set-up, credit approval proposals, line changes (increases, decreases and amendments), family tree maintenance and periodic client and facility reviews.
- Develop pro-active partnership and team relationship with critical business areas, e.g. Control Management and Risk Information Improvement Initiatives.
- Ensure adequate coverage of assigned portfolio(s) in terms of holiday, sickness, training etc.
- Follow best practice and procedure to ensure there are no control breaches
Role Objectives
Overlimit Monitoring Support:
Review overlimits and ensuring that they are sent to the appropriate credit executives. Ensure overlimits that are deemed to be violations are escalated to the relevant Business.
Transaction Facility Management Support:
Review requests from front office to establish/modify/cancel credit facilities to ensure sufficiency of information provided. Gather requisite information and supporting documentation, and initiate new client set-up (if needed). Process in credit infrastructure systems the establishment of new credit facilities and modification/cancellation of existing credit facilities, communicating with credit approvers as needed and coordinating with other bank groups as required.
Data Quality, Reporting, and Review Support:
Maintain the accuracy of information on the bank's credit systems through the utilization of data quality reports. Reports require input and resolution with an emphasis on deadlines. Co-ordinating periodic review for assigned portfolio in conjunction with front office review confirm client list, compile client and facility changes.
Working Groups:
Active participation and valuable input with various working groups created to enhance performance and efficiency.
Skills
- University degree, plus 1-3 years of relevant work experience preferred.
- Strong decision making capabilities and the ability to identify problems and propose solutions. Exhibits initiative to raise issues to appropriate staff when needed.
- Proactive/self-starter with the ability to deliver value-added support to business partners in a dependable, timely and accurate manner.
- Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to accept new assignments and challenges in a rapidly changing environment.
- Good communication and relationship/partnership-building skills both with team members as well as other business partners. Ability to interact confidently with more senior colleagues.
- Strong attention to detail with a control and cost discipline mindset, takes ownership and is accountable for area of responsibility.
- Good level awareness of banking and its products. A sound knowledge of credit policies and credit systems would be a distinct added advantage.
- Strong PC skills in Microsoft Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) required. Plus ability to use web-based technology effectively.
- Japanese Language Skills (a plus)
