JPM has undertaken a transformation initiative that aims at creating a centralized Reference Data utility within Operations and Technology.
The Global Instrument Reference Data Group will support all asset classes of instrument reference data, EOD Pricing and Issuer data across the Investment Bank.
To meet this challenge the Global Instrument Reference Data Team is seeking a Senior Associate/Vice President to be part of the Fixed Income and Entity Instrument Reference Data team.
The program includes process and technology improvement initiatives, for Fixed Income and Entity reference data.
The role located in New York will interact with key front office, middle office, technology stakeholders across JPM locations,

The candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to synthesize optimal business requirements from as-is state documentation, SOPs, interviews with key stakeholders is a critical skill.
Business cases need to be detailed for identified opportunities.
The candidate is expected to have subject matter expertise and intimate knowledge of instrument reference data for Fixed Income and/or Entity data.

The candidate will be expected to have knowledge of vendor data i.e. Bloomberg, Reuters, IDC, Ratings etc.
As vendor management will be an aspect of the role, any previous experience in interacting with vendors and performing vendor management for a major firm is also desirable.
The BRM serves as the content expert on all initiatives ensuring that analysis is done on all data requirements and ensuring that the analysis is the basis for implementations of tactical fixes and strategic solutions.

Experience in estimating cost and productivity savings in addition to softer benefits like enhanced controls is necessary.

The individual who fills this role must be comfortable creating and managing a realistic project plan and establishing an appropriate communication strategy for status and risks.
Credibility will need to be established through demonstrated product and business knowledge.

Demonstrated ability to create use cases, test cases, test results and business requirement documents will be needed.
Experience designing controlled processes with appropriate controls, workflow, metrics and KPI is essential.
This role requires a person who has proven his/herself to be a change agent with a high level of creative, analytic problem solving abilities.

Specific responsibilities include:
Synthesize multiple contributions from disparate sources into first class deliverablesDeliver and/or oversee business requirements and work with development teams from requirements gathering through implementation
Demonstrate the ability to review and provide feedback on technical and architecture designs and data modeling/MDMInterview and document as-is state for process and technology components of instrument reference dataRecommend opportunities for improvement - which have appropriate controls, reporting, KPIs and metricsDevelop business cases and cost benefit analysesIntegrate opportunities into agreed strategyCreate and manage project plans for implementing strategyCommunicate status and risks in a consistent and efficient mannerDetermine appropriate test/use casesExecute testing and communicate progress/results in a consistent and efficient manner

Qualifications
MBA or MS Degree
Deep experience in instrument reference data related transformation projects, Fixed Income products in particular.A strong understanding of operational processes, challenges and issuesPast successes in running a controlled process and designing operational controlsDomain knowledge of Fixed Income and Credit products, including Entity Issuer DataProven project and team management skillsProcess reengineering experienceDemonstrated stakeholder and vendor management skillsStrong analytical and creative solutioning abilitiesAbility to make decisions and escalate issues as appropriateStrong communications and presentation skillsStrong organization skills with high attention to detailsJPMorgan Chase
